The sages for the fulfillment of this mammoth task would abandon their homes and dwell into caves and forests isolated from any form of distraction. These sacred caves and forests came to be called Tapovan (forest of spiritual practice).

Tapovan is a gem hiding in plain sight. We stayed with my elderly parents for 3 nights and it was the best decision we made. The manager is very efficient and friendly. The resort is a trip to the old Kerala with the lovely homely feeling. Although looks very haunted at night it has a welcome vibe in the morning.
The place was organised beautifully with a native touch of Kerala. It’s suites perfect for families as well as couples.
Good relaxing atmosphere. Many cottages also to choose from. Artificial lake with pedal boating. Near thattekkad bird sanctuary. Luxurious rooms with tidy rooms and great amenities. Good for a weekend getaway. The roads in that area is repaired and has less trouble to reach this area.
Decent place to stop if you are visit Thattekad. Good food and also has an outdoor seating area. Has a full licensed bar which is kept separate from the family restaurant and cottages
